Back in February 2020 when we were working on which shampoo formulations we would like, Black Vanilla was going to be the front runner. Unfortunately due to current world events (The C word), we were unable to obtain the ingredients needed for the formulation and had to put it on the back burner. We had a soft launch of it in 2021 however one of the surfactants was discontinued in the UK and it had to take a step back once again. Finally we have been reworking this formula in our workshop to bring it to you here. Enriched with Baobab Root Extracts and natural plant sugars, this shampoo is aimed to help strengthen & repair hair whilst simultaneously conditioning the skin for a healthy glow. Best paired with our Conditioner & Facial.

If you’ve been with us since the start you may remember this one! Back in 2020 we were working with a lab to develop a face wash formula. It was very similar to what we have today, just without the conditioning actives. We only did a trial run to test the waters and although everyone who purchased it loved it, we hadn’t quite got it right yet. It cleansed really well but didn’t have anything that would stand it out from the crowd. That was when we started looking at which botanicals & conditioning actives we could add to improve the product, and that is when a light bulb went off inside our heads which led to the development of our Marshmallow Facial. This facial takes what everyone loves from the marshmallow facial and adds in Soapwort which helps further detoxify the skin for more greasy skin types such as Shihzus & Lhazas.

You may remember our toner formulations. This product was one of our staple products and something we love even to this day. It was perfect for getting those dogs with the greasiest of skin squeaky clean and fresh. Unfortunately at the time we narrowed ourselves to the thoughts of how the product applied to the skin, and didn’t think of the practicalities of using it around the face. This time round we have taken all the amazing benefits of the toner but swapped some of the surfactants to allow for a denser more stable foam which will allow for dual application. Apply directly to the skin for a deep clarifying wash and through a foamer bottle for a deep cleansing foaming facial. This way the product can be tailored to your application needs within the salon.

We use colour to help you understand the ingredients a little bit more. All the ingredients highlighted in Green are naturally derived or 100% natural. However just because an ingredient isn’t in green, doesn’t mean it isn’t safe/gentle.
Many ingredients require preservatives that help keep the formulation safe. Many natural ingredients as well can be unsafe and it is safer to use a synthetic version.
Where do we even begin with this… Throughout our time in business, one thing is for sure. There's always an Orange scent somewhere. Orange is such an amazing fragrance. It brings a citrusy freshness to the air whilst somehow gets your mouth watering like it's a sweet! Our original orange fragrance was a cleansing shampoo and to pay homage to this, we’ve put it in shampoo bar form. Powerful essential oils of Orange, Grapefruit & Patchouli work in harmony to bring a deep cleanse to the skin whilst maintaining that healthy gloss of the coat. Perfect for any dirty ear or toe.

When we first started Peanut & Pickle I knew I didn't want alcohol fragrances. I wanted something that was eco friendly & also long lasting. We originally had our surfactant based formulas until recently we moved over to our current formulas which use 100% Glycerin. There are pros and cons to cutting out alcohol in your fragrances. The pro is that you have a longer lasting product as the alcohol evaporates faster along with the fragrance. The con is that if sprayed too close or too much there can be a greasy residue. However when used correctly (and sparingly) the fragrance will last longer & be more gentle to the coat. We have slightly tweaked this formula to include a natural silicone alternative made from olive oil which adds a weightless feel to the spray.
Not to be confused with pomegranate noir, Black Pomegranate was one of our original perfumes, designed to be the feminine version of our black pepper. Spicy, floral & bright, perfect for layering over the masculine fragrance that is Black Pepper. We are excited to bring it back in this box, especially after the massive increase in popularity that Black Pepper has had since our revamp of the fragrance.
